Are you a child living in Storhaug aged 6–12? Then you have the chance to be part of this summer’s exciting theatre production!

Nabolagsteatret is looking for 32 children from Storhaug to play the roles of Squirrel Children and Brumlemann in this year’s performances of «Klatremus og de andre dyrene i Hakkebakkeskogen».

What does it take to participate? A good mood, a desire to join in, and time for the rehearsals!

How do you sign up?

Show your interest by registering your child using this link. All registered children will be invited to a gathering on either April 22 or 24, where we’ll get to know each other and learn “The Squirrel Kids’ Song” and “The Vegetable-Eating Song” together. If more than 32 children sign up, we will make a selection during these gatherings.

What happens next?

Those selected will take part in theater rehearsals from mid-May to mid-June. The days and times for rehearsals and performances can be found here. We’ll get to know each other, sing, dance, learn lines, and rehearse the play. Rehearsals will take place both indoors at Emmaus Volunteer Center, Rasmus Risas gate 33, and outdoors near the performance venue.

In the play, we need 7 squirrel kids and 1 Brumlemann. The children will be divided into four groups of 8, with varying ages, and each group will perform in 3 shows. This way, more children get a chance to participate!

Is there a fee to participate?

The children will not be paid, but will hopefully enjoy a great sense of community and an exciting experience performing alongside both other children and adults. All participants will receive two free tickets to a performance of their choice.

If we end up with a surplus, the money will go toward future theater projects for children and youth in the neighborhood.
